Thanksgiving Miracles!

“It is written: ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken.’ With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:13-15

Renee, Danielle and Cassel after their baptisms!

Last Sunday, on November 12, the Central New York church rejoiced as three Syracuse University (SU) students were baptized into Christ: Renee Taylor, Danielle LaRose, and Cassel Spence! To God Be the Glory for the miracles He has bestowed upon us!
The scripture above emphasizes the fact that action always accompanies belief. If we have deep conviction about the saving grace of Jesus, we will not be able to contain the gratitude of being united with Him! (Romans 6:1-5) As a result, an increasing amount of people will be able to know Him through our message and thank Him for his amazing grace by repenting of their sins and being baptized into Christ! (Acts 2:38)
A little over a month ago, the entire campus and teen ministry boldly shared their faith on the Syracuse University campus as we invited our new friends to an outreach event. God blessed our efforts with fruit as a sister met Danielle and invited her out to study the Bible. Danielle came and brought her friend Renee to the SU Bible Talk. A week later at our Campus and Teen Sunday, Danielle brought her friend Cassel. All of them began studying the Bible and were baptized into Christ only a few weeks later! In a day and age where so many people lack the gratitude and thanks due to their Creator, the church witnessed an outpouring of thanksgiving as Danielle, Renee, and Cassel all shared with joyful hearts and tears for the opportunity to be united with Christ!
I am so encouraged by how God is been working here in Central New York! Our family is strong and vibrant, and there is a buzz for the Lord’s mission! On the same day as these miracles, God blessed us with a brother who was visiting in the hopes of moving to be part of a church that is, in his words, “truly changing people’s lives again.” A “church (movement) of sold-out disciples focused on evangelizing the whole world.” After the service he exclaimed, “This service has confirmed what I have already decided in my heart was right! The love and commitment to the mission here is inspiring!” It is by God’s grace that we have received our salvation, and it is up to us to “work out our salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12) We pray for more disciples who may be in lukewarm or spiritually hurtful situations to join this brother in his courageous effort to “discern what is best” for his spiritual health so we can all live lives that are “pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:10-11). There are still millions of souls that are waiting to know the grace and truth of God. Let us bring God the “thanksgiving” He deserves through proclaiming the message of the gospel!
